Google has launched Google Merchant Center: Improved version of Google Base

Google has launched Google Merchant Center which is an improved version of Google Base. Google merchant center allows ecommerce websites to upload their product feeds to Google.

We can submit our products to Google merchant center and make the products searchable in Google products search (also known as Froogle).
  • It drives direct traffic to your site and increase sales.
  • Users can easily find products using Google Product search or Google.com.
  • Allow shoppers to easily find your site using Google Product Search or Google.com.
  • Upload your items via data feeds, direct uploads, or use our API.
Checkpoints to optimize Product feed:

We must use the Google Local Business Center to make Google aware about the local store locations because Google Product Search shows local store locations in product search results. We can use “online only” attribute for our products feed if we are working for an e commerce site which deals online only.

Make sure to submit all suggested and non-compulsory attributes, the more information shoppers have, the more they know about the products we offer.

As per the requirement, make sure we’re submitting often enough to keep our listings fresh and accurate according to the products additions and their pricing in our site.
